Fortissat by-election result

Labour and Co-operative Party candidate Peter Gerard Kelly has been elected to serve as an elected member in Ward 13 Fortissat of North Lanarkshire Council, following a by-election on Thursday 04 March.

The number of first preference votes polled for each candidate was:

  • Ben Callaghan, Scottish Conservative and Unionist – 656
  • Kyle Davidson, Scottish Green Party – 69
  • Peter Gerard Kelly, Labour and Co-operative Party – 1,071
  • Sarah Isobel Quinn, Scottish National Party (SNP) – 965
  • Neil Wilson, UKIP - 31

Total of first preference votes: 2,792

The percentage poll was 23.3% and the electoral quota was 1,397.

29 ballot papers were rejected.

Des Murray, Returning Officer, said: “I would like to congratulate Peter on his election, and I look forward to seeing him at the next council meeting.”
