Glencairn Primary School is celebrating the first anniversary of its additional classrooms and peripatetic staff base, which were installed following a £840,000 investment to support the school community.

The new units were installed last year to help meet growing demand at the school and provide additional learning space.

The two modular classrooms each offer 60 square metres of teaching space and include modern washroom facilities.

Over the past year, the classrooms have played an important role in easing pressure on the school’s capacity and have provided flexible, high-quality spaces for learning and activities.

Councillor Michael McBride, convener of education, children and families, said: “This investment reflects our commitment to supporting schools and communities as they grow.

“The modular classrooms at Glencairn Primary have already made a positive difference, giving pupils and staff the space they need to thrive and helping us continue to deliver high-quality education in a modern, supportive environment.”
