Visitors to Shotts Leisure Centre are enjoying a range of recent improvements following an investment programme worth almost £300,000.

The upgrades have enhanced key areas across the centre, helping to provide modern, welcoming facilities that support health, wellbeing and active lifestyles in the local community.

A major refurbishment of the health suite includes new sauna and steam room cabins, along with new tiling and decoration.

The reception and concourse areas have also been transformed, with improvements including a new access gate, a redesigned reception desk, upgraded lighting and flooring, and full redecoration.

Further investment has included essential pool plant improvements to support the continued safe operation of the swimming facilities, alongside upgrades to the gym areas and replacement equipment within the fitness areas.

Local councillors John Jo Leckie and Martin McCulloch visited the centre along with Council Leader Jim Logue.

Councillor Logue said: “We are committed to investing in our leisure facilities and ensuring local communities have access to high-quality spaces where people can be active, improve their wellbeing and spend time together.

“These improvements at Shotts Leisure Centre have created a brighter, more pleasant environment for customers and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to providing excellent facilities that meet the needs of local people.”

Shotts Leisure Centre continues to be a valued hub at the heart of the community. As well as the recent improvements, the centre offers a wide range of fitness classes, a swimming pool with family-friendly features, a health suite, and a multi-purpose sports hall.
