Our volunteers team has achieved a national award for its work in creating opportunities for groups and individuals that benefit local communities.
The Investing in Volunteers award is the UK’s standard for good practice in managing volunteers.
It recognises the success of VolunteerNL, a local programme that helps people get involved in their communities through a wide range of roles, such as museum helpers and cancer support volunteers.
“This shows how much our volunteers contribute and how well our teams support them. Volunteers are a key part of our communities, and we’re so grateful of the work they do to make a difference to the lives of so many people,” said Provost Kenneth Duffy.
VolunteerNL provides full training, a range of benefits, and roles to suit different interests.
Joanna Kingsley, who leads VolunteerNL, added: “We’re thrilled to receive this award. It reflects the commitment and enthusiasm of our volunteers, and the strong partnerships that make volunteering in North Lanarkshire so successful.
“We’re grateful to all our volunteers for the time, energy and care they give to local people and communities.”
