This position is for an individual with a strong interest in promoting religious education.

Under Section 124 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, as amended by the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994, the committee currently includes representatives from the Church of Scotland and the Roman Catholic Church. 

A vacancy for a third representative has arisen to broaden input on religious education matters.

Nomination process

• Official nomination forms are available from Monday, 8 December 2025 by emailing electionoffice@northlan.gov.uk.
• Completed forms must be submitted by email to the same address no later than 4pm on Friday, 16 January 2026.

Selection

• If only one nomination is received, that individual will be recommended for appointment.
• If more than one nomination is received, the Education, Children and Families Committee will review and decide on the appointment.
