St Patrick’s Primary School in Kilsyth has been awarded the SportScotland Gold Sports Award.
The award is the highest level of recognition for schools that demonstrate a strong, whole‑school commitment to physical education, physical activity and sport.
Pupils, teachers, Active School Co-ordinators, parents and community groups have all contributed to achieving this prestigious award.
“Our children have been lucky to be involved in a variety of sporting activities in this year, football, volleyball, netball, tennis, badminton, gymnastics, dance, rugby and fitness activities; and through active schools have participated in many competitions too,” said Kathleen Celino, Headteacher.
“Congratulations to everyone at St Patrick’s Primary School on achieving the SportScotland Gold Sports Award,” said Councillor Michael McBride, Convener of the Education, Children and Families Committee.
“The award recognises the school community’s work to encourage participation in a wide variety of sports and highlight the benefits of being active. Everyone involved should be very proud of their efforts.”
