There are two local council Remembrance Sunday Services and Parades scheduled to take place on Sunday, 8 November 2026 in North Lanarkshire.
The first Service and Parade will be held at the War Memorial, Blair Road, Coatbridge at 10.45am, followed by the second Service and Parade at the Cenotaph, Duchess of Hamilton Park, Motherwell at 3.00pm.
Other locally organised ceremonies will also be taking place in towns and villages across North Lanarkshire.
In addition, a wreath-laying ceremony will take place at the War Memorial outside the Civic Centre on Armistice Day, Wednesday 11 November at 11.00am. Representatives of the Lanarkshire Lieutenancy will also lay wreaths at nearly 70 war memorials across the county over the Remembrance weekend.
Provost of North Lanarkshire, Kenneth Duffy, said: “Remembrance Sunday is a poignant time for our communities to come together, pause, and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
“It allows all generations to stand side by side in gratitude, ensuring the courage and selflessness of those who served our country are never forgotten.”
