Result of UK Parliament by-election in Airdrie and Shotts

Scottish National Party (SNP) candidate Anum Qaisar-Javed has been elected to serve as a Member of Parliament in the Airdrie and Shotts Constituency, following the by-election on Thursday 13 May.

The number of votes polled for each candidate was:

  • Stephen Philip Arrundale, Scottish Liberal Democrats - 220
  • Ben Ron Callaghan, Scottish Conservative and Unionist – 2,812
  • Martyn William Greene, ReformUK – Changing Politics for Good - 45
  • Donald Murdo MacKay, UKIP - 39
  • Neil Peter Manson, Social Democratic Party Scotland - 151
  • Anum Qaisar-Javid, Scottish National Party (SNP) – 10,129
  • Jonathan Marc Stanley, Scottish Unionists - 59
  • Kenneth Stevenson, Scottish Labour Party – 8,372

The total votes cast were 21,852 and the percentage poll was 34.3%. 25 ballot paper were rejected.
