Pupils at Caldervale HS in Airdrie have been getting expert support and inspiration from one of Scotland’s greatest ever athletes as part of the school’s Set for Success programme.
Eilidh Doyle, retired 400m hurdler, sprinter and Scotland’s most decorated track and field athlete, has been working with S3 pupils to help build confidence, resilience and a positive mindset for learning and life beyond school.
“The school is delighted to be working with Eilidh and grateful for the time and experience she continues to share with pupils as part of this programme,” said Tracey Fox, Head Teacher of Caldervale High School.
Drawing on her experience at the highest level of international sport, Eilidh has been supporting the group through a series of structured sessions, sharing practical advice on goal setting, motivation and overcoming challenges.
She has already delivered several sessions with the pupils who have described the programme as ‘really motivating and inspiring’.
The Set for Success programme is designed to give young people the skills and confidence they need to succeed, and pupils have responded positively to the opportunity to learn from an athlete who has competed on the world stage.
