A team of brilliant P6 pupils from St. Barbara’s Primary School in Muirhead has done North Lanarkshire proud by representing the area at the prestigious National Euroquiz Final, held on Monday 9 June 2025 at McEwan Hall, Edinburgh University

Organised by Scotland’s National Centre for Languages (SCILT), the Euroquiz encourages pupils to deepen their understanding of European languages, geography, history, and culture. After winning the North Lanarkshire heats, St. Barbara’s earned a place among 30 top teams from across Scotland in this high-profile event.

The pupils dedicated many hours preparing and demonstrated impressive teamwork and knowledge on the day.

Councillor Michael McBride, Convener of Education, Children and Families, said: “Huge congratulations to the pupils and teaching staff at St. Barbara’s Primary. Reaching the national final is a fantastic achievement and a testament to their hard work and enthusiasm.

"They’ve been wonderful ambassadors for our area.”
