A new online service for booking vans and trailers into Household Waste Recycling Centres will be available from Wednesday 21 April 2021

The council has responded to requests from residents for the online booking system, which allows residents to choose a time slot that suits them best.

The booking system can be accessed on the council website 24/7 from a mobile phone, laptop or PC, to book a slot at one of the four recycling centres which have capacity for vans and trailers: Netherdale Road, Netherton; Foundry Road, Shotts; Stobcross Street, Coatbridge and Wardpark Industrial Estate, Cumbernauld.

The new service is available online only and is for household waste only. Any commercial/business waste cannot be accepted and will be turned away.

“Feedback from residents indicated that being able to book a time slot for vans and trailers at our Household Waste Recycling Centres would be useful, so we have developed a new service to make the process easier,” said Andrew McPherson, Head of Regulatory Services and Waste Solutions.

“To ensure our centres run effectively, vans and trailers must be booked in advance so this new service will allow residents to book a time slot that suits them quickly and easily.”

When booking, residents must provide vehicle details and registration and the type of material to be disposed of. On arrival at the centre, the material will be inspected and drivers must provide photographic ID and proof of address, for example a utility bill, council tax bill or the hire agreement, if the van is hired.

To access council services online, residents need to sign up for a Scottish Government ‘myaccount’, which will provide you with a secure log-in and a private dashboard where all your transactions with the council will be logged in one place.
