Network of centres and retail survey

To help support our focus on town centre regeneration, we carry out and maintain a comprehensive survey of key uses within our network of centres.

This identifies occupancy and uses in our town centres, local centres, commercial centres, and stand-alone units with data on retail, leisure, office, food and drink, community, health and other related uses.

The information is used to inform policy within the emerging North Lanarkshire Local Development Plan (NLLDP2), provide evidence on town centre health checks, support the development of our town action plans and pride in place initiatives.

Find out about our 2023/2025 survey

Our most recent survey covers over 4,400 units within our eight town centres, six commercial centres, 58 local centres, and around 1000 stand-alone units. This amounts to almost 1.6 million square metres of floorspace.

Please find details of the outlets surveyed and where they are located in the spreadsheet below.
