Our Stage 1 engagement exercise has ended
The opportunity to provide feedback on the options for East Airdrie Link Road has now ended.
We would like to thank everyone who provided comments on the options.
Your feedback on the shortlist will help usas we move forward to Stage 2.
There will be a number of other stages where you will be able tell us what you think.

What is the East Airdrie Link Road?
We propose to create a new route between Newhouse and Stand/Riggend.
Through City Deal funding, we are looking to create a new single carriageway road link with pedestrian and cycle ways to the east of Airdrie. This will reduce traffic journey times and congestion as well as improve air quality in and around Airdrie.
This proposal is a key part of a much larger vision to improve the current link from the M74 to the M80. We feel a new East Airdrie Link Road is vital for this to be a success.
First stage in the process
This gave us an opportunity to show you the options we have considered together with the options we propose to take forward to investigate further.
This was the first opportunity for you to give us feedback and it was important that we knew your views.
The options
You still have the opportunity to see all the information that was presented to you earlier in the year on the link road options that we have considered.
All these options and the short list of link road options we are planning to develop further can be provided to upon request.

What happens next?
The next stage is for us to develop the short listed options we are looking to take forward. At Stage 2 we will present the more detailed options for you to comment on. We expect this to be around October 2020.
