Cumbernauld Local Outcome Improvement Plan highlights

Community Engagement – Cost of Living Event St Lucy Primary

A Cost of Living event was held at St Lucy's Primary School in Cumbernauld in line with the Cumbernauld Local Outcome Improvement Plan.

How did the project come about?

The Community Partnership Team recently hosted a Cost-of-Living event at St. Lucy’s Primary School in Cumbernauld.

This was held during the school’s Parent Evening. The event provided over 200 families with access to valuable information and support from various local organisations, including NLC’s Community Partnership Team, Period Dignity and SUM Up Projects, Cornerstone House, Cumbernauld Poverty Action, and The Pet Pantry.

Alongside the advice and support offered by these partners, the Community Partnership Team distributed soup packs and recipe cards to 150 families. Additionally, more than 200 Period Dignity products were made available during the event.

What was the outcome?

Abronhill has been identified as one of Cumbernauld’s priority communities, and Food and Financial Insecurity is a key issue in here.

Over 300 families able to access appropriate information and advice.
