Cost of Living Events - Chapelgreen Primary School and Banton Primary School
The Community Partnership Team organised two Cost of Living Events within Chapelgreen Primary School and Banton Primary School with the support of the Head Teachers.
How did the project come about?
The Food and Financial Insecurity subgroup identified a need to target some of our more rural communities by linking in with the local primary schools across Kilsyth and Villages.
The events targeted parents and carers of children who attend both Village schools. A total of 67 parents and carers attended the events and engaged with stall holders, with 35 in Queenzieburn and 32 in Banton.
Stallholders included the Community Partnership Team, Carers Together, Community Learning and Development, Tackling Poverty Team, Citizens Advice (CAB) and Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Care.
What was the outcome?
Feedback was extremely positive from both local people and agencies. We collected post-it notes from 54 people who attended the event to gather feedback. Out of the 54, there were 50 people who said the event was great.
Lots of free period products were given away with advice on how to access more products and soup packs were provided to families.
