Motherwell and Bellshill Training Programme - First Aid
Two training sessions delivered on March 24 and 31, 2025 focusing on delivery of First Aid. This was focused on Community Engagement, Tackling Poverty and Mental Health.
How did it come about?
These training courses were identified as a need within Motherwell and Bellshill through discussions with Local Outcome Improvement Plan Sub Groups. Participants of the courses were identified through the local sub groups and spaces were prioritised for groups/organisations who deliver projects in the Motherwell and Bellshill areas.
What was the outcome?
We delivered the opportunity for local groups/CVS organisations who are actively involved in our LOIP subgroups in Motherwell and Bellshill the chance to take part in Emergency first aid courses.
The Emergency First Aid at Work 1-day course taught 24 students the basics of emergency first aid, including the law relating to First Aid, dealing with the incident, artificial ventilation and CPR, recovery position, shock, choking, bleeding, breaks, and burns.

Community Engagement:
The learning from this course benefited local groups and organisations by building capacity and strengthening them. New skills and knowledge gained to keep everyone safe during events engaging with communities.
