Forgewood, North Motherwell and Motherwell Town Centre have been awarded up to £20 million in funding from the UK Government's Pride in Place Programme to develop and deliver a Pride in Place Plan, setting out a vision for the area over the next ten years.
We are the accountable body for the Pride in Place Programme funding in Motherwell and are working with the local MP to establish a Neighbourhood Board, which has responsibility for developing the Pride in Place Plan and overseeing its delivery through Investment Plans.
Have your say
We consulted with local residents and organisations across Forgewood, North Motherwell and Motherwell Town Centre, during spring and summer 2026 on priorities for change in these areas.
Thank you to those of you who had your say by telling us what matters most to you and what changes you’d like to see over the next 10 years through the Pride in Place Plan.
Your feedback has helped us to develop five emerging themes:
- health, wellbeing and opportunities for all
- inclusive and connected communities
- a safe and attractive town centre and strong community assets
- opportunities for children and young people
- safe, healthy and welcoming places
We are now looking for your views on these themes, and if you agree with these or not.
Have your say by completing our short survey before the closing date of Tuesday 28 September.
Neighbourhood Board
The Chair and two local elected member representatives have been appointed to the Neighbourhood Board.
Board Member Expressions of Interest have now closed, thank you for your submissions. We are working with the Chairperson and the local MP to determine Board membership and this will be announced soon.
