We’re carrying out essential website maintenance on Wednesday, 18 February, between 10 and 10:30 a.m. Our website will be unavailable during this time.
Our state-of-the-art facilities make it an ideal location for an Emergency Response Centre, used by the council and other partners for contingency planning in the case of major incidents and emergencies.
The council is a category 1 responder under the Civil Contingencies Act.
This means that it has a duty to work with other Category 1 responders such as Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Scottish Ambulance Service and NHS Lanarkshire before during and after any emergency situation such as flooding and fire that is classed a council-wide emergency.
Contingency plans are prepared and tested so that all agencies can work together effectively should an emergency arise to minimise the impact and effect a speedy recovery.
The Resilience Planning Unit can provide additional information.
