Young Scot card

Apply for a young scot card

If you attend a North Lanarkshire secondary school you can apply through your school - contact your Home School Partnership Officer or guidance teacher.

If you attend a North Lanarkshire school

You can:

  • apply through your school
  • contact the North Lanarkshire Young Scot team by emailing youngscot@northlan.gov.uk with your details, or calling 01236 812586

Each year, all primary 7 pupils are issued with application forms and given the opportunity to apply for a Young Scot NEC before starting secondary school.

If you have not applied through school, or have left school

You can apply online at getyournec.scot.

If you would prefer to complete a paper application email youngscot@northlan.gov.uk to request an application form be posted out to you or pick up an application form at your local library.

If you need a replacement card, want to update your photograph or renew an expiring/expired card

You can do this online at getyournec.scot.

Alternatively, you can email the North Lanarkshire Young Scot office at youngscot@northlan.gov.uk

How to apply

You will need to provide:

  • a recent passport-style colour photograph
  • current documentary evidence of your age, and
  • proof of your current address

Full details of acceptable types of documentary evidence can be found on the front page of the application form.

Please visit your local library with the completed application form and documentary evidence.
