If a planning application affects you or your community, you can voice your support or raise planning-related concerns. Your comment will be publicly visible and must follow the council’s guidance to ensure it can be considered.
Comments should be made within 21 days of official notification from us or within 14 days of the planning notice appearing in a local newspaper.
Comments received after the deadline will not be considered

How to Submit Your Comment
- Prepare your comment in a Word document first (max 5,000 characters)
- Log in, search for the application, and open it
- Click the Comments tab → then Make a comment
- Select your Commenter Type and Stance (Object, Support, Neutral)
- Paste your comment and click Submit
If submit fails, your comment may be too long - shorten as needed
Examples you can comment on include:
- Privacy and overlooking
- Design, layout, and density
- Traffic, parking, and road safety
- Environmental impacts like noise, drainage, flooding
- Compatibility with local development plans
- Impact on heritage or conservation areas
Comments not considered include:
- Property values
- Applicant identity
- Personal disputes or private views
- Business competition or moral objections
