Stage 2 - Project overview

What was Stage 2?

Stage 2 was about us of gathering information for the project.

This was where we looked at all the possible route options east of Airdrie and assessed the short-listed options.

At the end of Stage 2 we selected the preferred option which is to be taken forward to detailed design.

  • we have ended our Stage 2 assessment of the short-listed options
  • we have completed assessing the options and have selected the preferred option
  • the options assessment was done in two phases

We  also worked with NHS Lanarkshire on the requirements of the new road to support the Monklands Replacement Hospital project at Wester Moffat.

Stage 2 (Phase 1)

We sought your feedback on the Stage 2 shortlisted options. This was phase 1 of the process.

The feedback received during the Stage 2 Phase 1 (public engagement) was reviewed and considered.

Further feasibility work was identified and progressed to support the selection of the preferred route. This was phase 2 of the process and considered additional options at Riggend.

Find out more about what we are doing now and how we have selected the preferred option for the project by visiting the Stage 2 – What did we do? section.
