Bellshill Gateway Community Garden
Community Resilience and Participation for the Bellshill Locality.
How did it come about?
The Community Partnership Officer (CPO) engaged with members of the Bellshill Community Council Committee (BCC), and local residents for developing this project proposal with the assistance of North Lanarkshire Council Greenspace Project team.
Further engagement took place between the Greenspace Project Development Officer and BCC in relation to site plans and placement of furniture. BCC were provided with updates on the progress of the project until completion.
What was the outcome?
The project contributes to actions of the Local Outcome Improvement Plans. This includes making the best of shared assets and resources through coordination of local engagement activity and plans, by supporting the development of a capital project through LDP resources.
It also contributed to ensuring that local organisations can access developmental support targeted to their needs to build local capacity to deliver local action.
