Coatbridge Local Outcome Improvement Plan highlights 2024/25

Kirkshaws Neighbourhood Centre

Supporting and improving mental health and wellbeing of community members through the Kirkshaws Neighbourhood Centre.

How did the project come about?

Kirkshaws Neighbourhood Centre provides a range of services to Kirkshaws and the wider Coatbridge community. Supported by NHS Lanarkshire and council funding, the Neighbourhood Centre has a range of services supporting people’s mental health in Kirkshaws. This includes:

  • Men’s mental health group - 6 participants over 5 months with monthly meetings
  • Craft group - 15 participants in a 20-week programme.
  • Women’s mental health and wellbeing group - 20 participants in a 12-week programme
  • Inquisitors Group - 12 participants in a 20-week programme

What was the outcome?

Across four groups, 53 community members benefited from services to improve and support their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

The range of programmes on offer to different demographic groups in the community provides a safe supportive environment to address the challenges people face with their mental health and to support their wellbeing.
