Update 14/03/24
You will be aware that parking restrictions are in place at the many car parks in the town centre connected to The Centre Cumbernauld, the Antonine Shopping Centre, and Tesco supermarket.
The maximum three-hour stay time limit and any subsequent enforcement at car parks for The Centre Cumbernauld has been removed and parking is free of charge.
However, restrictions remain in place at neighbouring private car parks for the Antonine Shopping Centre and Tesco but public notices are displayed with information.

Tay Walk - The scaffolding has been erected and work is scheduled to progress on 31 January 2024 onwards. Assessment of internal damages of fittings, fixtures and electrics will commence as soon as the building has been made wind and watertight.
Ettrick Walk - We hope to commence canopy works week commencing 5 February 2024
Update 26/01/24
Tay Walk is presently closed after the RBS. However, it may be closed at the junction before the RBS if the situation deteriorates.
Heras fencing is being installed today and this will enable Teviot Walk from Wetherspoon to Bon Marche to be opened from 8am tomorrow (Saturday 27 January). However, only retail outlets will be accessible: there will be no through route to the remainder of the Centre.
The section of Teviot Walk from the escalators to Bon Marche would remain closed pending remedial works.
We will provide updates, once further information becomes available
Update 25/01/24
Following a review of the building this morning, Teviot Square and Ettrick Square reopened at 10:30am.
To ensure public safety, Teviot Walk and Tay Walk from The Royal Bank of Scotland to St Mungos’ Church entrance are completely closed.
The roof car park is partially closed until debris can be safely removed.
Structural surveys of the centre building are being carried out alongside remedial work.
The centre will only reopen when this has been carried out and the building has been made safe.
The council and centre management will continue to provide businesses and the public with updates.
Update 24/01/24
The affected sections of Tay Walk and the entire shopping centre from the top of the escalators will remain closed until:
- all debris that has come loose can be safely removed
- any exposed or damaged structures are inspected
We hope to confirm the timescales for this work, but it is likely to be tomorrow (24/1/24) at the earliest until we can provide this information.
The loss adjuster is due on site tomorrow and we are hopeful that repair work can start as soon as possible.
Staff from the centre have been providing updates to tenants.
For health and safety reasons, diversions will be in place for pedestrians and visitors at the entrances to the shopping centre at St Mungo’s Way and pedestrians are asked to follow the diversions to access Tay Walk via St Mungo’s Way to the north bus station entrances.
All other areas of the shopping centre remain open currently, and these can be accessed from Esk Walk and both bus stations, while the affected section of the shopping centre will be closed off. All units except for Wetherspoons and Ladbrokes, who have dedicated external entrances, will be closed.
