Ravenscraig Active Travel links

Introduction

Welcome to the information page for the Ravenscraig active travel links proposal.

We’re working in partnership with Ravenscraig Limited to create new routes for cycling, walking and wheeling into and through Ravenscraig. The new routes will make it easier to get to neighbouring communities, improve links to existing facilities within Ravenscraig and expand the active travel network.

Planning application

The planning application was approved in June 2021.

You can view all the information on this by using the reference number 21/00574/FUL on our online planning system.

Delivering the project

We have received external funding from SPT and the Scottish Government's Vacant and Derelict Land Fund and Place Based Investment Programme and have appointed a contractor to deliver the first phase of works.

The works will start on site in autumn 2021 and continue through to spring 2022. They will consist of the construction of the north-south link to connect Craigneuk with the Regional Sports Facility and new public park.

We will also be doing works to prepare for the future construction of the east-west link that will connect Craigneuk to the New College Lanarkshire campus.
