Town Action Plans

Introduction

Town Action Plans will be developed for all eight established towns across North Lanarkshire to help deliver the long-term Town Visions for each area.

In consultation with the community, we have now published Town Action Plans for Airdrie, Motherwell and Wishaw.

Public workshops were held in each town in the autumn of 2022 to allow the public the opportunity to promote specific projects and proposals which they wanted to see happen within their town centre.

The Town Action Plans illustrate the developments which will take place over the short, medium and long term to deliver the Town Visions, which set out the direction of travel towards a new mixed-use town centre economy to meet the needs of the community.

The following pages set out the approved Town Action Plans for Airdrie, Motherwell and Wishaw and the draft proposals for Bellshill, Kilsyth and Shotts.

Public consultations will be taking place in January and February 2024 in Bellshill, Kilysth and Shotts.

You can also download the associated PDF documents which give you further information on what is being proposed in your town.
