Intended strike action on 26-28 September has been suspended.
All schools and early learning centres will be open from Tuesday 26 September 2023.
Town Action Plans will be developed for all eight established towns across North Lanarkshire to help deliver the long-term Town Visions for each area.
In consultation with the community, we have prepared draft Town Action Plans for Airdrie, Motherwell and Wishaw.
Public workshops were held in each town in the autumn of 2022 to allow the public the opportunity to promote specific projects and proposals which they wanted to see happen within their town centre.
The draft Town Action Plans illustrate the developments which will take place over the short, medium and long term to deliver the Town Visions, which set out the direction of travel towards a new mixed-use town centre economy to meet the needs of the community.
The following pages set out the key proposals for Airdrie, Motherwell and Wishaw. You can also download the associated PDF documents which give you further information on what is being proposed in your town.
There are two versions of the draft Town Action Plans - a full version which explains the background to the actions and more detail on what is proposed and a summary document which focuses on the proposed actions for each town.
Town Action Plans will be drafted for our remaining five town centres as part of the next phase in the development process. We’ll update this webpage with more information on consultations in your area when available, likely in autumn 2023.
