Pride in Place Programme

Up to £20m in funding over the next 10 years has been allocated and this will focus on two areas in North Lanarkshire - Coatbridge and Forgewood/North Motherwell.

The fund objectives are to:

  • build stronger communities
  • create thriving places
  • empower people to take back control

Neighbourhood Boards are being established and supported to deliver regeneration plans for these areas.

Coatbridge:

  • This is a ‘Phase 1’ Pride in Place area.
  • Coatbridge will receive £19.5M in UK Government funding over 10 years, with the delivery phase due to start in April 2026.
  • We have submitted a Regeneration Plan to the UK Government for approval, which will unlock four years of delivery phase funding. We’re expecting a decision in early March 2026.
