Palacerigg Future Housing – South Cumbernauld Community Growth Area

We are now moving forward with proposals for the future development of the South Cumbernauld Community Growth Area.  This is a new housing area for Cumbernauld which will be developed over planned phases.

The Strategic Development Framework (SDF) and Concept Statement for South Cumbernauld provide the detailed information required to develop the area in the best way possible. These documents are available on our South Cumbernauld Community Growth Area page.

Public consultation

As part of the process, we've arranged for a public consultation overseen by Barton Willmore, now Stantec. This consultation covers the area we are describing as Palacerigg Village which is close to, but not part of, Palacerigg Country Park. An interactive plan is below which shows the boundaries of the site.

If you wish to learn more then Barton Willmore, now Stantec, will be hosting a consultation event at the Muirfield community facility. The event will take place on Thursday 16 February from 1pm to 8pm. The initial consultation period will run from 8 February to 2 March.

Following this, we will look to amend our proposals where possible and necessary, with the benefit of the feedback and then undertake a second consultation event currently planned for the end of March.

We look forward to seeing you on the 16 February at the Muirfield Community Centre. In the meantime, some plans investigating constraints and opportunities are set out in the PDF document below,
