More people getting fit and active in North Lanarkshire, with record numbers of people taking part in sports and fitness programmes.

Pupils and staff at Sacred Heart Primary School and Nursery in Bellshill were celebrating after being awarded the Gold Rights Respecting Schools Award by UNICEF UK.

More than 2,500 young people from across North Lanarkshire have taken part in shaping their local communities, according to a new report by the council’s Community Partnership Team.
