Our adopted Local Plan is a 5 to 10 year strategy for physical development.
Its policies and development proposals are there to make sure that North Lanarkshire is a successful place by providing:
- enough different land uses
- facilities in the right places
- future development that does not harm the environment
Our Local Plan
The North Lanarkshire Local Plan was adopted on 28 September 2012 and was formally published on 11 October 2012.
It is used to guide development, inform decisions, and is planning policy for the authority.
Many of our policies are also supported by a range of Supplementary Planning Guidance documents (SPGs) which we are developing.
While the statutory version is the adopted Local Plan in printed form, you can view our interactive version of the plan policies shown in the proposals map.
You can search by address or postcode and zoom in on the map to find out what local plan policies apply near you.
You can also access policy information relating to a particular location as represented in the local development plan.
