Digital Connectivity Fund

The Digital Connectivity Challenge Fund aims to support local community and voluntary groups to improve the coverage and reach of digital networks within their community hall or facility by providing grants for digital infrastructure such as wireless access points.

This could be an extension of the existing digital provision in your community facility or could support other infrastructure installations if your facility is not currently connected.

Grants of up to £5000 are available for constituted community or voluntary groups that have responsibility for the management of a local community facility in which they plan to make the improvements. The group must own or have a long-term lease in place for the facility and be able to meet the ongoing revenue costs of the improved digital services. The following provides examples of the type of costs that can be supported through the challenge fund:

  • installation of fibre connectivity
  • wireless access points and associated technology
  • internal cabling and infrastructure to accommodate provision
  • point-to-point wireless connectivity solutions

The Challenge Fund is now closed for applications. Applicants will be notified of the outcome by 31 March 2024.

Applicants will have been sent a confirmation from us that your application was received. If you have still not received any correspondence from us at all regarding your application, please get in touch as soon as possible by emailing uksharedprosperityfund@northlan.gov.uk
