Food and financial insecurity was a priority identified within the Kilsyth and Villages Local Outcome Improvement Plan. As part of the work on this priority, we worked with Balmalloch Primary School to identify what specific issues they have identified in the school regarding Food and Financial Insecurity and which organisations would be best to attend to engage with the parents and carers in their school.
When all relevant information was identified we attended the schools Parents Evenings one the 25th and 26th of March with local organisations One Parent Family Scotland and Carers Together.
Over the 2 sessions, 270 people attended and we directly engaged with 74 parent and carers where the Community Partnership Team distributed 50 soups packs and free period products.
These events provided an opportunity to engage with parents and carers in Balmalloch Primary School where parents and carers were able to speak directly to organisations who could provide one to one advice and direct support.
