Kilsyth and Villages Community Priorities Highlights 26/27

Community priorities consultation in Kilsyth Academy

The community partnership team held a community priorities consultation session with young people from Kilsyth Academy, alongside the youth engagement event held within the school. This consultation session linked in with the Kilsyth and Villages priority of youth engagement and consultation.

How did the project come about?

Working alongside the youth engagement event held in Kilsyth Academy, the community partnership team used this opportunity to engage with local young people to encourage them participate in the community priorities survey allowing them to share their views on the issues that matter the most to them in their community.

Some of the young people also participated in the survey also worked with our corporate communications team to create a TikTok video to share what their community priorities are to social media users as well as helping to promote the community priorities survey.

What were the outcomes?

A total of 62 young people participated in the consultation highlighting key priorities including opportunities for young people, health and wellbeing and improving environments. Young peoples' views were also captured by making TikTok Videos which will help to further promote the survey and encourage local people to share their views through filling out this survey. The views of the young people are important in helping to shape the community priorities for Kilsyth and Villages for the next 10 years.
