Motherwell Community Priorities highlights 25/26

Craigneuk Community Noticeboard

A small project focused on the refurbishment and relocation of the community noticeboard on Glasgow Road, Craigneuk which was completed in February 2026.

How did it come about

Craigneuk Community Noticeboard was previously located on Shieldmuir Street, Craigneuk and required to be relocated due to the work being carried out to install the Tommy Gemmell Statue. The noticeboard was requiring an upgrade to its overall look and to the glass area to improve viewing information.

What was the outcome

The Community Partnership Team (CPT) engaged with Craigneuk Lifelong Learning Centre who are currently the key holder of the noticeboard to approve a new site.

The CPT appointed a contractor to refurbish the noticeboard which would complement the Breathing Space bench situated on the grass area where the community noticeboard would be relocated to. The new location is a prime spot for people walking, using transport links, accessing Craigneuk Lifelong Learning Centre and Craigneuk Family Learning Centre and those using the retail park.

The aim of the project is to help promote local community activities, community groups and events within the Craigneuk area.

If you would like to share your community project, please drop posters into Craigneuk Lifelong Learning Centre, 641 Glasgow Road, Craigneuk, Wishaw, ML2 7SR. Their opening hours are Monday to Thursday between 9.30am to 2.30pm or email louisehealy.clla@gmail.com who will be happy to display on your behalf.
