Improving access to residential rehabilitation as a treatment option is a key part of the National Mission to save and improve lives.
The Government is clear that residential rehabilitation should be part of the full range of drug prevention and treatment services available to people in all local authority areas. The diagram at the bottom of this document sets out the residential rehab process in North Lanarkshire.
Currently, residential rehab is available as part of a wider range of care and treatment options. If you, or someone you know, is seeking support for alcohol and drug use and you wish to discuss whether residential rehab is suitable, please contact your local Addiction, Recovery Team.
How do the Addiction Recovery Teams work?
North Lanarkshire Addiction Recovery Teams provide assessment, care, treatment and support to individuals whose health and well-being is impacted upon as a consequence of their alcohol and/or drug use.
The team comprises of social workers, addiction staff, nurses, occupational therapists, psychiatry and psychology. They can offer structured detox from substances, opiate replacement treatment, harm reduction interventions, assessment/access to residential rehab, linkage to community supports/reintegration and support with wider social issues including housing and benefits advice.
The service accepts self-referrals or referrals from any other service involved in an individual’s care.
