We provide grit bins to help communities that are not on priority gritting routes. This is in addition to our road gritting services.
Please use these to keep local paths and streets clear and safe, and to help elderly neighbours who might not be able to clear the paths adjacent to their own properties.

Request a new bin or refill
You can complete an online form or call 0345 143 0015 to request a new grit bin or refill a bin.
Grit bins will only be topped up on request when resources are available.
New grit bins will only be placed on the public footpath outside the requester's property.
