Bellshill Community Priorities Highlights 26/27

Bellshill Community Events May 2026 - Community Priorities Engagement

The community partnership officer for Bellshill attended multiple events within the locality to engage with members of the community regarding the consultation for the new upcoming community priorities. This allowed local people to voice what is important to them in their area.

How did it come about?

As the current Local Outcomes Improvement Plans (LOIPs) are set to conclude in 2027, we have begun the formal review process. Officers have been engaging and consulting with local people to encourage participation in the Community Priorities Survey which was launched at the end of March 2026.

What was the outcome?

Further engagement and consultation events took place over the month of May including: engaging with parents and carers at local primary schools at Parents Evenings, discussing local priorities with participants in activity at Viewpark Glen and group discussion sessions with a local community organisation.

At the end of May, officers from the Community Partnership Team were invited along to the Service User Forum held in Bellshill Cultural Centre. We had an opportunity to engage with seldom heard voices and those who had experienced homelessness. We were able to engage with around 50 people and supported them to engage in the community priority survey. We also advised how they can get involved in their local communities, contribute to Local Development Projects (LDP) and how to access free period products

Community voices, local insights and knowledge are vital to ensuring the refreshed Community Priorities (LOIPs) reflect the needs and aspirations of our communities.

The survey gives local people the opportunity to influence what happens in their communities and ensures that future plans reflect what matters most to residents.

Take the Community Priorities Survey.
