Crisis support
If you do not have enough money to live on month to month help is available.
The Scottish Welfare Fund can assist people who have a low income and find themselves in a crisis situation with a crisis grant. There may be other help available through welfare benefits, debt advice and support via community organisations.

Help with Benefits
Our Welfare Rights Advisers can carry out a benefits check to ensure you are receiving all the benefits you are entitled to. They can also provide advice and assistance to apply for the wide range of welfare benefits administered by the Department of Work and Pensions , Social Security Scotland and North Lanarkshire Council. Help with Debt
We have a team of Debt Advisers who can help North Lanarkshire residents with all debt solutions including Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS) and Bankruptcy. We also offered tailored budgeting advice. Our Cost of Living page offers a range of hints and tips including living safely with less, living with a smaller income and living with rising energy costs.
You can also find out about eating well and staying active for less, including details of the Active 60 membership, available to North Lanarkshire residents aged 60 plus and providing access to leisure facilities including swimming, health suites and more for £60 per year.
