Free Period Products in schools

Period products are a necessity. No young person who lives or learns in North Lanarkshire should have to worry about affordability or availability of these essential products. 

We provide free period products for any pupil who needs them in: 

• Primary schools
• High schools
• Family learning centres
• Children's homes

All our pupils can expect:

• free products available during the school day
• access without forms, eligibility check or proof of need
• clear collection points in toilets or other designated areas
• a choice of product types wherever possible

Every school:

• has a designated staff contact who oversees ordering and stock checks
• displays products in accessible, pupil friendly locations
• reports low stock or product issues to the team
• can access more digital and print materials and resources for implementation upon request
• promotes information on availability through school notices, bulletins, campaign leaflets and posters, assemblies or digital channels as needed

This provision is designed to be easily and discreetly accessible, inclusive while ensuring support, dignity and choice for all.
