The Cemeteries service

Introduction

We understand that the bereavement process is a traumatic time for families and we aim to provide support in a caring, professional and sensitive manner at this time.

We support this process by including useful contact details for those that are affected by the loss of a loved one or friend.

We manage a number of cemeteries and churchyard burial grounds:

  • 8 operational cemeteries
  • 9 closed cemeteries
  • 15 closed churchyards
  • Holytown Crematorium

This makes a total of 32 cemeteries and churchyards. You have the right to inspect any of our cemeteries or churchyards by prior arrangement with our cemetery administration office.

We are members of the Charter for the Bereaved. This charter includes a grievance procedure. A copy of this charter is available on request from our cemetery office or it can be downloaded from the ICCM website.

A leaflet is available through our cemetery administration office. We have a set of guiding principles that will help you understand the ethical and social standards that we have adopted.
