The LDP project proposals were submitted after discussions between residents, local elected members and officers from the Community Partnership Team. Residents felt that they would benefit from additional car parking as the existing parking provision was causing significant parking and safety problems for traffic flow and pedestrians. The residents and elected members advised that additional car parking spaces were needed to alleviate the problem.
Project proposals were received by the Community Partnership Team who engaged with local residents to ensure there was community support for the projects. The Project team were able to develop detailed designs for additional parking spaces within the limited space available.
The completion of these projects will provide residents with more places to park, alleviating previous issues and improve community safety by moving vehicles off the main carriageways.
In partnership with Hochtief, projects were completed early 2026.
