Cumbernauld Community Priorities Highlights 26/27

Installation of Notice Boards Across Cumbernauld

Twelve new noticeboards have recently been installed across Cumbernaulds priority areas, funded through the Local Development Programme.

How did the project come about?

Abronhill Regeneration Forum, Kildrum Community Council and Carbrain and Hillcrest Community Council identified through their membership that their engagement approach of using social media platforms was not meeting the community’s needs, particularly those who were digitally isolated. Therefore the groups identified to the Community Partnership Team the need for Community Noticeboards across the areas to help improve the identified communication issues.

The community councils worked in partnership with the Community Partnership Team to identify areas across Cumbernauld where these Noticeboards would be the most effective in sharing information with the community.

Through Local Development Programme funding, 12 notice boards have now been installed across the Cumbernauld areas of Carbrain, Kildrum and Abronhill.

What was the outcome?

The noticeboards are now used to share useful information on local supports and resources as well as helping local organisations to promote upcoming events and activities. The noticeboards continue to ensure that all the residents of communities can be included and part of community decision making.

This project contributed to the local priorities of Communication and Engagement, allowing communities to decide in what way they would like to receive information and engage with local groups,
