Pride in Place - Coatbridge

Have your say

Updates on recent surveys and further opportunities to give your views.

A safe and friendly town centre

Within the Coatbridge Regeneration Plan, one of your three identified priorities was to focus Pride in Place funding towards improving the town centre.

As part of the Coatbridge Christmas event, we encouraged you to have your say on early work to improve the safety and appearance of Main Street next year.

Thank you to those who attended the event and provided their views. Survey results are now being analysed to inform the next stage of this project.

Plans for other projects to improve Main Street will also be developed and we will ask you to have your say on these once more details are available. Check back here for any relevant updates on surveys and how you can get involved.

Invest in what we have – improving links between key assets

Another of the three priorities you identified for the Coatbridge Regeneration Plan was to invest in what we have. Under this priority, proposals are being developed to improve provision for people walking, cycling and wheeling between key assets in the town.

A study is being carried out on a proposed route that runs from Coatbridge town centre through Blairhill and Townhead then on to Gartcosh and Muirhead. This will form part of Strategic Network Routes 1 and 7 of North Lanarkshire's Active Travel Strategy.

The Coatbridge Neighbourhood Board is supporting work on the part of the route that runs through Coatbridge town centre to Basin Park, the Time Capsule and Drumpellier Country Park.

We welcome your thoughts on the proposed, preferred route, and on the two identified route options through Coatbridge town centre. This will inform the next stage of design.
