Currently some of our web-based contact telephony systems for services are being affected by technical issues through our provider. Please use online services where possible. 

For home support services, please contact the out of office numbers for each locality which can be found here: https://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/directories/social-work-locality-offices. Or in an emergency for home support, outwith office hours, contact 0300 555 0408. Community alarms are not affected. 

Schools and corporate services are not affected. 

Youth work

North Lanarkshire Challenge

The North Lanarkshire Challenge is for young people aged 8 to 14 who live, or go to a school in North Lanarkshire.

There are four levels in the challenge

  • Sapphire - to gain this challenge you must take part for 8 hours.
  • Emerald - to gain this challenge you must take part for 10 hours.
  • Ruby - to gain this challenge you must take part for 12 hours.
  • Diamond - to gain this challenge you must take part for 15 hours.

In each level you will take part in four activities

  • A service to help other people.
  • A physical activity like a sport, game or keeping fit.
  • Learn or get better at a skill.
  • Go on an adventure.

The North Lanarkshire Challenge will help you gain confidence that you can do different things. It gives you a chance to work as part of a team and learn new skills. You will get a sense of personal achievement by working with others to help the community.

When you complete each level you will be awarded a certificate.
