North Lanarkshire's Path to Net Zero (2045)

Our new climate plan 'Path to Net Zero' provides the council with the first set of thematic targets that will help reduce emissions, achieving an average reduction 57% by 2030.

As a public sector body, we have an important role in the reduction of greenhouse gases in North Lanarkshire as well as making sure we are climate-ready and acting as sustainably as we can.

We have aligned our targets with those set at a national level up to 2045. Our first carbon budget covers a five-year period from 2026 to 2030.
