Our annual Christmas Appeal brings Airdrie together to support local families and strengthen our community. Aligned with the Airdrie Local Outcome Improvement Plans (LOIPs) to tackle poverty and support emotional and mental wellbeing, the Appeal provides essential items such as gifts, clothing and food vouchers to households that need them.
The Airdrie Action Partnership Christmas Appeal 2025 was launched for the 2nd year in association with Airdrieonians FC and Airdrie Community Trust bringing together several groups including:
- local organisations
- charities
- local businesses
- individuals
2025 saw another increase in the numbers requiring additional support within Airdrie during December. By easing financial pressure, reducing inequalities and promoting wellbeing, the 2025 Appeal helped ensure that more children, teenagers and families enjoyed a festive season filled with dignity, comfort and joy.
What was done
The Airdrie Action Partnership (AAP) in collaboration with over thirty organisations including local businesses, charities, national retailers, voluntary groups, faith organisations, sports clubs with a wide range of expertise , resources and goodwill. They supported and helped organise the 2025 Airdrie Christmas appeal with the help of dedicated volunteers to fulfil the requests of children and families in need in various forms including:
- gifts
- food vouchers
- clothing
- referrals
Outcome
The 2025 Christmas Appeal's impact on our community members is highlighted below;
- 341 families supported with 717 children and teenagers receiving gifts and clothing
- 15 families received food gift vouchers to help with Christmas dinners
- 45 individual gift cards distributed
- 55 referrals made to our Tackling Poverty team for income maximisation support
- identification of 102 duplicated referrals for families
The Airdrie Action Partnership appreciates every local person, business, volunteer and organisation who supported them as their generosity and community spirit made a lasting difference for families in need.
