Baird's Avenue Play Area
Baird's Avenue play area is an example of community participation, which is a priority for Bellshill.
How did the project come about?
The project proposer and a local elected member contacted the Community Partnership team for assistance in making improvements and upgrades to an existing play area.
What was the outcome?
Local consultation and engagement was carried out with several households and a total of 48 residents. The play area improvement work had strong local support, with many residents advising that children under their care would use it regularly.
An improved play area can provide children with a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable place to play. It can also benefit the local community by fostering socialisation, creativity, and community spirit.
A £100,000 upgrade was completed to the existing playpark in June 2024.
