Bellshill pump track
Bellshill pump track is an example of community safety, which is a priority for Bellshill.
This involved looking for ways to interact with local youths, whilst offering safety advice, diversionary activities, and understanding the risk that anti-social behaviour has on the community.
How did the project come about?
Community Alcohol Partnership (CAP) along with SocialTrack and Police Scotland came together to hold a free bike and coaching session and offer youths advice regarding anti-social behaviour, and alcohol misuse, whilst highlighting diversionary activities available in the area.
What was the outcome?
Over 100 youths attended the arranged sessions, with Word Champion stunt BMX riders also in attendance. This allowed advice to be offered to youths and parents, whilst also providing free bike marking sessions.
