Challenge Poverty parents information and advice event
These events link in with the Cumbernauld Local Outcome Improvement Plan priorities of Food and Financial Insecurity, Communication and Engagement and Targeted Action Across the Priority Areas of Kildrum and Abronhill.
Between October and November 2025, the Food and Financial Insecurity Priority Subgroup, along with Abronhill and Kildrum Primary Schools, worked together to design and deliver financial information and advice events for those attending parents evenings.
The aim of these events was to highlight the type of information, advice and support available to families experiencing any type of financial hardship.
Many local organisations and council teams attended these events including:
- Youth Action Cumbernauld and Kilsyth
- Our Community Partnership Team
- Community Learning and Development
- Headteachers and staff at Kildrum Primary School and Abronhill Primary School
- Cornerstone House
- Cumbernauld Poverty Action
- Citizens Advice Bureau
- Cumbernauld and Carbrain Hub
- Cumbernauld Pet Pantry
- Home Energy Scotland
- Our Sum Up team
- Period Dignity Project
- One Parent Family Scotland
- Community Solutions.
These events resulted in over 350 families being able to access relevant information and support available to them.
