Cumbernauld Academy Youth Volunteers and Opportunities Fair
This event, organised by our Developing the Young Workforce team, allowed us to address the priority from the Cumbernauld Local Outcome Improvement Plan of Youth Engagement and Consultation.
Our Community Partnership team took part in the Cumbernauld Academy Youth Volunteers and Opportunities Fair. This event was held on the 25 September to showcase our work relating to the Local Development Programme.
Young people engaged with us, gaining knowledge of the process of the Local Development Programme as well as finding out ways that they can make an impact on their local community by getting involved in local consultation and community boards. They also learned about opportunities that are available to them to volunteer within their community that link to the Local Outcome Improvement Plan for their area.
This resulted in 78% of the young people who interacted showing an interest in taking part in future developments regarding the Local Development Programme and any other consultations that relate to them.
This also allowed the team to share information on the Cumbernauld Local Outcome Improvement Plan to further develop the young people's knowledge on the priorities for their local area.
